I’m supposed to say something profound here but I can’t really place it, and I didn’t notice how incredibly good this track was until GITS:SAC was over and done with and I was looping the five soundtrack albums like a crazed fanboy. I’m this close to rewatching it for moments like these where I can pinpoint (and I can; I know the OSTs like the back of my hand now almost) my favourite tracks.
This is classic Kanno complexity. The same haunting tortured male vocals filtered over a solid I hate being a music illiterate rhythm line thing, the electronica intro before the meandering but never aimless rock affair—it’s just like Good By My Master, except while that one was a pretty straightforward affair with what it wanted to convey, Dear John is different.
I’m guessing it’s the 2nd Gig, and Kuze-related since, well, you know.
